Knaresborough welcomes thousands of visitors from all over the world every year. There is so much to see and do in our beautiful town at any time of the year. Knaresborough is a town steeped in history with an interesting view at every corner.
Medieval streets weave through the town dominated by the castle which sits proudly above the River Nidd. The market square bustles with activity and is the centre of the shopping area with independant shops and cafes. The famous Knaresborough Market takes place every Wednesday offering local produce, plants and household goods and is always worth a visit.
With walks along the stunning river with views to the iconic viaduct, visitors can enjoy the beautiful surroundings after stopping for home baked cakes at one of our riverside cafes.
If you want a longer walk then why not explore the stunning Nidd Gorge, a beautiful woodland area just upstream from the town centre. This is a great spot for family walks, dog walks and summer picnics.
Alternatively if you fancy a bike ride then why not try the Beryl Burton Cycle Way, a Sustrans route which allows cyclists to ride to Harrogate, Bilton and Ripley avoiding traffic.
Knaresborough really is the perfect town for all ages and any time of the year. Join us for a day out or even longer. You will not be disappointed! Come to Knaresborough as a visitor, but leave as a friend.
