Knaresborough is surrounded by many interesting and picturesque walks which vary from easy going to difficult. It is worth a visit to Knaresborough Tourist Information Centre located in Knaresborough Library as they have lots of information on local walks. Nidd Gorge which is located just outside Knaresborough comprises of 68 acres of stunning woodland with walks that weave around the trees. Bats, roe deer, tawny owls and herons are just a few of the inhabitants of this woodland that you may spot on your walk. Abbey Road Wood Sculptures, St Robert's Cave and Knaresborough Castle is a gentle 3 mile walk taking in some stunning scenery of the town. Plenty of opportunity for a coffee and cake stop too!
